1. Information We Collect

Device Identification

  • Unique Device Identifier: We collect a unique device identifier to provide our services, manage subscriptions, and track entitlements. This identifier is automatically generated by your device and cannot be used to personally identify you.
  • Device Information: We collect technical information about your device including device type, model, manufacturer, brand, operating system platform and version.

Analytics and Usage Data

  • App Usage Analytics: We collect information about how you use MathGo, including app launch count and features accessed.
  • Device Performance Data: We collect total memory and used memory information to optimize app performance.
  • Regional Information: We collect your device's locale settings to provide localized content and features.
  • Technical Data: We collect operating system information to ensure compatibility and improve our app.

Camera and Photo Access

  • Camera Access: We access your device camera only when you choose to scan math problems for solving.
  • Photo Library Access: We access your photo library only when you choose to upload existing images of math problems.
  • Temporary Processing: Images are processed temporarily to extract and solve math problems, then immediately discarded.
  • No Storage: We do not store, save, or retain any images, photos, or visual content from your device.

Information We Do NOT Collect or Store

  • We do not collect or store personal information such as names, email addresses, or phone numbers.
  • We do not collect location data beyond general locale settings.
  • We do not store images, photos, or any visual content from your camera or photo library.
  • We do not access your contacts or other personal files.
  • We do not collect any information that can personally identify you.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and maintain our AI-powered math education services
  • To process math problems (from images, text, or uploads) through our advanced AI solving system
  • To enhance problem-solving capabilities using our proprietary AI engine and external AI services when needed
  • To process and manage in-app purchases and subscriptions through RevenueCat and app store services
  • To track and verify subscription entitlements across platforms

3. How We Share Your Information

  • App Store Services: We share necessary subscription and entitlement data with Apple App Store and Google Play Store to process purchases and verify subscriptions.
  • Subscription Management: We use RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases and subscriptions across platforms, sharing necessary subscription and device identifier data to provide seamless subscription services.
  • AI Processing Services: As part of our math solving process, we may share only the mathematical problem content (not images or personal data) with external AI services including OpenAI and Anthropic to enhance our problem-solving capabilities.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose aggregated, non-personal information if required by law, regulation, or legal process.

4. AI-Powered Math Problem Solving

Our AI Processing System

  • Advanced AI Engine: We use our own proprietary, super advanced math processing AI engine hosted on our private servers to solve math problems.
  • Multiple Input Methods: Users can scan, upload images, or paste text of math problems for solving.
  • Real-Time Processing: Math problems are processed in real-time through our sophisticated backend AI system.
  • No Problem Storage: Math problems (whether from images, text input, or uploads) are processed temporarily and not stored permanently.

External AI Services

  • Enhanced Processing: As part of our complex AI math solving process, we sometimes use external AI models from OpenAI and Anthropic to enhance our problem-solving capabilities.
  • Limited Data Sharing: When using external AI services, we share only the math problem content itself - no device information, user data, or other personal information.
  • Temporary Processing: External AI services process the math problems temporarily as part of our solving pipeline and do not retain the data.
  • Privacy Protection: Our use of external services is designed to maintain your privacy while providing the best math solving experience.

Image Processing

  • Image Recognition: When you scan or upload images, we extract the mathematical content using our AI image recognition system.
  • No Image Storage: Images are processed temporarily and immediately discarded after mathematical content extraction.
  • Secure Transmission: When server processing is required, images are transmitted securely and deleted immediately after processing.
  • Content Focus: Only the mathematical problem content is retained temporarily for solving - never the original images.

5. Data Anonymization and Privacy Protection

  • All data we collect is anonymized and cannot be used to identify individual users.
  • Device identifiers are used solely for technical purposes and subscription management.
  • We implement data minimization practices, collecting only what is necessary for app functionality.
  • We do not create user profiles or track users across other apps or websites.
  • We do not use the collected data for advertising or marketing purposes.

6. Data Retention

  • We retain device identifiers and subscription data as long as necessary to provide our services.
  • RevenueCat processes and retains subscription data according to their data retention policies to manage cross-platform subscriptions.
  • Math problems (from any input method) are processed temporarily and immediately discarded - we do not store mathematical problem content.
  • Analytics data is retained for up to 24 months to improve app performance and user experience.
  • When you uninstall MathGo, most data associated with your device is automatically deleted.
  • Aggregated, anonymized analytics data may be retained indefinitely for research and improvement purposes.
  • External AI services (OpenAI, Anthropic) process math problems temporarily as part of our solving pipeline and do not retain the data.
  • Legal or regulatory requirements may require us to retain certain data for specified periods.

7. Your Privacy Rights

  • MathGo is operated by PureSoft Labs OÜ, based in Tallinn, Estonia, European Union.
  • We process and store data in secure facilities that comply with EU data protection standards.
  • All international data transfers comply with applicable data protection laws, including GDPR.
  • We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for any cross-border data transfers.
  • Since we do not collect personally identifiable information, privacy risks are minimized.

11. Device Permissions

  • Camera Access: We request camera permission only when you choose to scan math problems. This permission allows you to take photos of math problems for solving.
  • Photo Library Access: We request photo library permission only when you choose to upload existing images of math problems from your device.
  • Permission Control: You have full control over these permissions and can grant or deny them through your device settings.
  • Optional Functionality: Denying camera or photo permissions will not prevent basic app usage, but will disable the image-based problem solving features.
  • No Background Access: We only access camera or photos when you actively use these features within the app.
  • Temporary Processing: Any images accessed are processed immediately and temporarily, then discarded without storage.

Apple App Store

  • We comply with Apple's App Store Review Guidelines and privacy requirements.
  • Subscription management is handled through Apple's App Store infrastructure.

  • We will notify you of significant changes through the MathGo app or app store update notes.
